Evidence summary for prevention and management of extravasation in peripheral intravenous infusion in NICU neonates

Objective To systematically search,evaluate and summarize the best evidence for prevention and management of extravasation in peripheral intravenous infusion in NICU neonates,and provide a reference for clinical practice and standard formulation. Methods A comprehensive systematic search of websites and databases was conducted to explore literature on prevention and management of extravasation in NICU neonates,including clinical decisions,guidelines,expert consensuses,evidence summaries and systematic reviews. The search encompassed the entire period from database inception to July 2023. 2 researchers independently evaluated the quality of the literature,extracted and integrated the evidence. Results The study included a total of 9 articles,comprising 1 clinical decision,3 guidelines,3 expert consensus documents,and 2 evidence summaries. Ultimately,25 pieces of evidence were synthesized,covering risk factors,catheter indwelling and maintenance,extravasation assessment and treatment,and team building,education and training. Conclusion The evidence provided practical and specific recommendations that can guide healthcare institutions in formulating strategies to prevent and treat extravasation during peripheral intravenous infusion in NICU neonates,while also offering evidence-based guidance for applying the evidence in clinical practice.

Just-in-time adaptive intervention(JITAI) is an emerging type of mHealth intervention,which can adjust the type,timing and frequency of interventions according to individual demands and contexts at the exact time of need. It is featured by high flexibility,credibility and individualization,leading to its wide use in health field. This review introduces the theoretical basis,design framework,applications and prospect of JITAI,aiming at providing a new approach for promoting health in nursing.

Objective To construct a quality control information system for the entire process of neonatal breastfeeding and evaluate its application effect. Methods Based on the “evidence-based guidelines for breastfeeding of inpatient newborns” and combined with clinical practice,hazard analysis and critical control point methods were applied to construct a quality control information system for the entire breastfeeding process,which includes medical order reminder module,knowledge assessment module,breast milk outside the hospital management module,breast milk inventory reminder module,and adverse feeding record module. The pure breastfeeding rate,qualified rate of breast milk quality,and incidence of adverse events of hospitalized newborns before the application of the system(June and August 2021) and after the application of the system(June and August 2022) were compared. Results After the implementation of the system,the pure breastfeeding rate of hospitalized newborns increased from 15.12% to 28.05%,with a statistically significant difference(χ2=4.170,P=0.041). The qualified rate of breast milk quality increased from 68.44% to 96.79%,with a statistically significant difference(χ2=531.853,P<0.001). The incidence of adverse events decreased from 5.81% to 0,with a statistically significant difference(P=0.026). Conclusion The quality control information system for the entire process of breastfeeding accurately identified risks and warning signs against them,standardized the management of breast milk outside the hospital,improved the qualification rate of breast milk quality and pure breastfeeding rate,reduced adverse events of breastfeeding,and ensured the effectiveness and safety of breastfeeding.

Current status and latent profile analysis of nurses’ organizational silence

Objective To explore the current status of organizational silence among nurses,and to analyze its latent profiles and population characteristics. Methods Convenience sampling was adopted to select nurses from secondary and above hospitals in Northeast,South,Southeast,Central South,East,Southwest,and Northwest China in June 2020 by the demographic characteristics questionnaire,Employee Silence Scale(ESS) and Peer Support Scale (PSS). A latent profile analysis(LPA) was performed on characteristics of nurses’ organizational silence,and the influencing factors of the latent profile were identified by single-factor analysis and logistic regression analysis. Results A total of 3 974 nurses were included,and their organizational silence can be divided into 4 categories,namely “outsiders”(15.60%),“followers”(22.60%),“middlers”(37.75%),and “protagonists”(24.06%). Logistic regression analysis showed that family financial burden,health status,job title,hospital level,head nurse support and colleague support were the influencing factors of the latent profile of organizational silence(P<0.05). Conclusion There was heterogeneity in the characteristics of organizational silence,which could be divided into 4 latent profiles. Nursing managers can conduct individualized interventions according to the influencing factors of different organizational silence profiles to reduce the level of organizational silence of nurses.

Construction and application of enteral nutrition protocol for patients with intra-abdominal hypertension oriented by intra-abdominal pressure

Objective To construct and apply an enteral nutrition protocol for patients with intra-abdominal hypertension oriented by intra-abdominal pressure,and provide systematic and standardized interventions for the implementation of enteral nutrition for patients with intra-abdominal hypertension,to reduce the incidence of feeding intolerance and improve the feeding compliance rate. Methods Through literature review and the Delphi method,the enteral nutrition protocol for patients with intra-abdominal hypertension was constructed,and 218 patients with intra-abdominal hypertension admitted to the emergency ICU of a tertiary hospital in Zhejiang Province from January to October 2022 were selected by convenient sampling method. The experimental group used the enteral nutrition protocol for patients with intra-abdominal hypertension oriented by intra-abdominal pressure for enteral nutrition treatment,and the control group used the conventional enteral nutrition treatment in ICU. The incidence of feeding intolerance symptoms,the feeding compliance rate on the 3rd and 7th day of enteral nutrition,the duration of enteral nutrition,and the number of days in ICU were compared between the 2 groups. Results The incidence of feeding intolerance symptoms in the experimental group(58.70%) was lower than that in the control group(74.31%);the feeding compliance rate on the 3rd day of enteral nutrition(31.19%) was higher than that in the control group (16.51%);the rate of feeding on the 7th day of enteral nutrition(28.44%) was higher than that in the control group(13.76%),and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the duration of enteral nutrition and ICU stay between the 2 groups(all P>0.05). Conclusion The enteral nutrition protocol for patients with intra-abdominal hypertension oriented by intra-abdominal pressure has clinical guiding significance,which can reduce the incidence of feeding intolerance and improve the feeding compliance rate in patients with intra-abdominal hypertension.

Establishment of an evaluation index system for health education among nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with radio-chemotherapy

Objective We aimed to establish an evaluation index system for health education among patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) who are undergoing radio-chemotherapy. As a theoretical basis,this system may be applied by the clinical nurses to carry out targeted health education and guidance among NPC patients undergoing radio-chemotherapy and to evaluate the effect of health education. Methods From March to July 2021,we constituted a structured multidisciplinary research team,including oncologists,nurse specialists,nutritionists,et al,based on the theory of Knowledge-Belief-Practice. Literature review,semi-structured interviews,as well as the Delphi method and Multi-dimensional Analytic Hierarchy Process,were used to establish a framework of the evaluation index system and set weighted value for each evaluation index. Results The response rates of the 2 rounds of expert consultations are 85.0% and 100%.The expert authority coefficients are 0.932 and 0.935,respectively.The total Kendall harmony coefficients of the 2 rounds of expert consultations are 0.235~0.326 and 0.302~0.419(P<0.01).As a result,we built up an evaluation index system of health education which comprised 3 first-level indexes,19 second-level indexes and 73 third-level indexes for NPC patients undergoing radio-chemotherapy. Conclusion The evaluation index system may provide evidence and a practice tool for clinical nurses in conducting a comprehensive and efficient evaluation of health education among NPC patients undergoing radio-chemotherapy.

Objective To explore the application effect of acupoint application therapy combined with seed embedding in ear acupoints at selected time in patients with constipation(Heat syndrome) after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP). Methods A total of 90 patients with constipation(Heat syndrome) after ERCP in a tertiary A hospital of traditional Chinese medicine in Suzhou from July 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the research subjects by convenience sampling method. They were randomly divided into an experimental group(n=45) and a control group(n=45).The experimental group was provided acupoint application therapy combined with seed embedding in ear acupoints at selected time intervention on the basis of routine care,and the control group was given acupoint application therapy intervention on the basis of routine care. The TCM syndrome points,efficacy index and first defecation time after intervention were compared between the 2 groups. Results The TCM syndrome points of (2.41±1.23) in the experimental group was lower than that of (4.17±1.56) in the control group (P<0.001). The efficacy index of (97.44%) in the experimental group was higher than that of (41.46%) in the control group(P<0.05).The time of first defecation after intervention in the experimental group was(10.03±3.98) h,which was shorter than (22.51±6.36) h in the control group(P<0.001). Conclusion Compared with single usage of acupoint application therapy,acupoint application therapy combined with seed embedding in ear acupoints at selected time can effectively improve the constipation (Heat syndrome) after ERCP by decreasing the TCM syndrome points,enhancing the efficacy index and shortening the first defecation time.

Evidence-based practice in out-hospital management of breast milk for hospitalized neonates

Objective To apply the best evidence for out-hospital management of breast milk in hospitalized neonates to clinical practice and to evaluate its effects. Methods We used the method of evidence-based nursing to obtain the best evidence. From September 2021 to February 2022,the evidence was applied to the clinical practice through 4 steps,including evidence acquisition,baseline evaluation,evidence introduction,and after-effect evaluation. The incidence of breast milk-related infection,nurses and maternal women’s cognitive level of out-hospital management about breast milk,the implementation rate of review items about maternal women were compared before and after the application of evidence-based practice. Results We finally included 21 pieces of evidence,with a total of 18 review indicators. The incidence of breast milk-related infection decreased from 5.81% to 0(P=0.026);the scores of nurses and maternal women on out-hospital management of breastfeeding increased from(70.1±5.4) and(55.8±8.3) to(87.6±5.0) and(74.5±6.2)(t=10.606,P<0.001;t=8.055,P<0.001);except for items 8,13,and 16,the compliance of out-hospital management review indicators for breastfeeding increased to more than 80%. Conclusion Evidence-based practice can standardize the correct operation of family members’ breast milk collection,storage,and transportation,thereby reducing the risk of breast milk contamination and ensuring the quality and safety of breast milk.

This article depicts the classification of intra-abdominal pressure,essential operation of the measurement of intra-abdominal pressure and key points of intra-abdominal pressure measurement. It summarizes the management and practice of pressure monitoring in enteral nutrition for patients,aiming to help nurses to master the technology of intra-abdominal pressure monitoring correctly and carry out enteral nutrition therapy effectively.

Construction of a core competence evaluation index system for nurses participating in ECMO technology

Objective To construct a scientific and systematic core competence evaluation index system for nurses participating in ECMO technology,in order to provide references for the training,assessment and competence evaluation of nurses. Methods Through literature review and semi-structured interviews,the preliminary draft of the core competence evaluation index system for nurses participating in ECMO technology was formed in this study. From February to April 2021,25 experts from 6 provinces in China were consulted by Delphi method,and the weight of indexes at all levels was determined by analytic hierarchy process. Results The effective recovery rates of the 2 rounds of expert consultations were 90.00% and 92.59%,respectively;the expert authority coefficient was 0.886,and the Kendall harmony coefficient was 0.205(P<0.001) in the second round. The final core competence evaluation index system for nurses participating in ECMO technology includes 7 first-level indexes,19 second-level indexes and 70 third-level indexes. The first-level indexes include professional knowledge,clinical practice ability,critical thinking ability,professional development ability,communication and coordination ability,management ability,and personal traits. Conclusion The core competence evaluation index system for nurses participating in ECMO technology in this study was scientific and reliable,which can provide valuable references for the training,assessment and competence evaluation of nurses.

Objectives To retrieve,evaluate and summarize the best evidence for preventing and management of intra-abdominal hypertension in critically ill patients to provide evidence for clinical nurses to prevent and monitor the intra-abdominal hypertension in critically ill patients. Methods We searched websites and databases including,but not limited to,UpToDate,BMJ Best Practice,National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence,Guidelines International Network,Registered Nurses Association of Ontario,Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network,World Health Organization,Yimaitong guide network,World Society of the Abdominal Compartment Syndrome ( WSACS ),Cochrane library,PubMed,Embase ( OVID ),CINAHL ( EBSCO ),CNKI,Wanfang for guidelines,recommended practices,evidence summaries,expert consensuses,and systematic reviews,randomized controlled trials,best practice information manuals regarding monitoring and management of intra-abdominal hypertension in critically ill patients were searched and retrieved. 2 researchers independently assessed methodological quality of included papers and extracted data. Results A total of 15 articles were included,including 5 guidelines,1 expert recommendation,2 expert consensuses,1 best recommendation,6 systematic reviews. Finally,21 pieces of best evidence were formed from 6 aspects,namely the assessment,monitoring management,treatment management,posture management,enteral nutrition management,volume resuscitation and fluid management. Conclusion The best evidence for prevention and management of intra-abdominal hypertension in critically ill patients summarized in this study is scientific and comprehensive,providing the evidence-based basis for medical staff to standardized measurement and management of intra-abdominal hypertension in critically ill patients in clinical practice.

The current status and influencing factors of caring behavior among ICU nurses in 24 tertiary hospitals in Sichuan Province

Objective To investigate the status quo of compassion fatigue and caring behavior in ICU nurses,and to analyze the correlation between them. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted among 538 ICU nurses from 24 tertiary hospitals in Sichuan province from February to June,2021. The questionnaire included the general information questionnaire,Chinese version of Compassion Fatigue Short Scale(C-CFSS) and Nurse Caring Behavior Scale(C-CBI). Pearson linear correlation and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the influence and correlation of compassion fatigue on caring behavior of ICU nurses. Results A total of 550 questionnaires were collected,of which 538 were valid,with an effective rate of 97.8%. The score of compassion fatigue was(45.37±20.60),indicating that ICU nurses were in a state of mild compassion fatigue. Among them,34.4% of ICU nurses suffered from moderate to severe compassion fatigue. The score of caring behavior was(122.25±15.33),which was in a high level of caring behavior. Pearson correlation analysis showed that compassion fatigue was negatively correlated with caring behavior(r=-0.328,P<0.001). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that compassion fatigue and educational background were the main influencing factors of caring behavior (P<0.05). Conclusion The compassion fatigue of ICU nurses will have a negative impact on their caring behavior. The lower level of compassion fatigue of ICU nurses can predict the higher level of caring behavior. Nursing managers should continue to pay attention to the compassion fatigue of ICU nurses and actively provide relevant support to improve the compassion fatigue and improve the caring behavior of nurses.

Construction and application of a traditional Chinese medicine continuing care program for patients with acute ischemic stroke

Objective To construct a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) continuous care program and to evaluate its application effect in discharged patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods A total of 102 patients with acute ischemic stroke hospitalized in the Department of Encephalopathy of a tertiary hospital in Guangxi from June 2019 to June 2020 were selected as the research subjects by convenience sampling method. They were randomly allocated into an experimental group(n=51) and a control group(n=51).The experimental group was carried out with the TCM continuous care program on the basis of routine nursing,while the control group received the routine nursing. At the time of discharge and 1 month,2 months and 3 months after discharge,the 2 groups of patients were investigated and evaluated by a simple Fugl-Meyer Assessment Scale(FMA) and Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale(SS-QOL). Results There was no significant difference in FMA score and SS-QOL score between the experimental group and the control group at the time of discharge(P>0.05). A month after discharge,there was no significant difference in the FMA score between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05),but the SS-QOL score in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of FMA and SS-QOL in experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group at 2 and 3 months after discharge(P<0.05). 3 months after discharge,the clinical efficacy of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05). The analysis of variance of repeated measurement data showed that the interaction between groups,time,and inter-groups and time had statistically significant effects on FMA score and SS-QOL score(P<0.05). Conclusion The constructed TCM continuous care program is scientific and feasible,which can effectively improve the limb motor function of patients with acute ischemic stroke and improve their quality of life at home.

Objective To establish and apply an information system of early warning scoring for neonates,so as to provide clinical nurses in neonatal departments with a rapid and dynamic method of assessing the conditions of patients,and to improve their ability to perform homogeneous early warning assessment. Methods 100 neonates hospitalized in a neonatal department from July to December 2019 in a tertiary hospital of Wenzhou City were selected as an observation group,and the early warning scores of neonates were evaluated using an information system. 100 neonates hospitalized from January to June 2019 were selected as a control group. The number of oxygen inhalation cases,oxygen inhalation time,the number of invasive mechanical ventilation cases,the number of cases transferred to NICU,the length of hospitalization,the accuracy of the early warning score,and the time consuming of the scoring were compared as the comparison indicators by artificial early warning scoring. Results The number of invasive mechanical ventilation cases and the number of cases transferred to NICU in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the number of oxygen inhalation cases,the time of oxygen inhalation and the length of hospital stay;the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The accuracy rates of early warning scoring for nurses were significantly improved,and the time consuming for scoring decreased significantly with statistical differences(all P<0.05). Conclusion The neonatal early warning scoring information system has obvious advantages in improving the accuracy of scores and saving time,improving the ability of nurses of different ages to make early warning assessments of neonatal conditions,and early detection of potentially critically ill children. Early intervention and early treatment can reduce the incidence of adverse events and improve clinical outcomes.

Fabrication of stainless steel twist traction rings and their application in quality inspection of luminal devices cleaning

Objective To invent a stainless steel twist traction ring and to discuss its effectiveness in the quality inspection of luminal devices cleaning. Methods A stainless steel twist traction ring is invented and used for inspection of the cleaning quality of luminal devices. Its effectiveness in quality inspection of luminal devices cleaning was evaluated by comparing with the effect of visual + light source magnification method,the probe gauze method,and the ATP biofluorescence method. Results In the inspection of the cleaning quality of luminal devices A,there were differences in the cleaning quality pass rates between the twist traction ring method,the visual + light source magnification method and the ATP biofluorescence method,respectively,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.010). In the pair-wise comparisons,the visual inspection + magnification method had the highest pass rate,with a statistically significant difference in pass rate from the other 2 groups(P<0.017). There were no statistically differences in pass rates between the twist traction ring method and the ATP biofluorescence method(P>0.017). In the cleaning quality inspection of luminal devices B,there were statistically significant differences in pass rates of the 4 cleaning quality inspection methods(P<0.01),and in the pair-wise comparisons,the visual inspection + magnification method had the highest pass rate,with a statistically significant difference in pass rate from the other 3 groups(P<0.008). Conclusion The stainless steel twist traction ring method can detect unqualified devices that cannot be detected by visual + light source magnification methods in the quality inspection of luminal devices cleaning. Its detection is comparable to that of the probe gauze method and the ATP biofluorescence method. But its operation is easier and more widely applicable than the probe gauze method,and it saves money compared to the ATP biofluorescence method.

Summary of best evidence of medication administration in patients with swallowing disorders

Objective To retrieve,appraise and summarize the best evidence of medication management in patients with swallowing disorders. Methods Using the method of evidence-based nursing for swallowing disorders patients,the problem of standard management of taking medicine was put forward. Evidence-based nursing methods were used to search UpToDate,BMJ,JBI,Cochrane Library,Ontario Registered Nurses Association of Canada,British National Institute of Clinical Medicine Guide Library,Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network,National Guideline Clearinghouse,Guidelines International Network,Canadian Medical Association,American Heart Association/American Stroke Association,PubMed,CINAHL,UK NEWT website,Chinese Biology Medical literature database,Yimaitong,China Knowledge Network and other databases including all relevant documents from the date of database establishment to January 2021,covering clinical recommended practice,guideline,evidence summary,systems evaluation,expert consensus. The retrieved literature was evaluated by 3 researchers,and the literature that met the quality standards was extracted for evidence. Results A total of 12 pieces of literature were included,including 2 clinical decisions,2 guidelines,6 evidence summaries,and 2 expert consensused. The best evidence was summarized in 8 areas,including education and training of health care personnel,pre-medication screening and evaluation,multidisciplinary collaboration,compensatory methods,selection of oral solid dosage forms,administration of crushing drugs,gastrointestinal nutrition tube administration,and monitoring and recording of medication effects. Conclusion This study summarized the evidence of the normative management of medication for patients with swallowing disorders,so as to provide evidence-based bases for medical institutions to establish the practice standard of medication procedures for patients with swallowing disorders,and to ensure the safety of medication for patients.

Objective To explore the core competence of ECMO specialist nurses in China and to provide standards for training ECMO specialist nurses. Methods With qualitative research methods,semi-structured interviews were conducted among 10 nurses who managed ECMO independently,3 ICU physicians,2 perfusionists and 3 head nurses. Content analysis was used to summarize and extract the theme. Results 7 themes were extracted,including professional knowledge,clinical practice ability,critical thinking ability,professional development ability,communication and coordination ability,management ability,and personal traits. Conclusion The core competences of ECMO specialist nurses are comprehensive. It is necessary to pay attention to and strengthen these 7 core competences of ECMO specialist nurses,so as to meet the needs of ECMO specialized nursing development.

Objective To construct a family-positive behavior support programme based on Family System Theory for preschool children with malignant tumors,and to explore effects of its application. Methods From March 2019 to February 2020,100 preschool children with malignant tumors were selected and randomly allocated into an experimental group(n=50) and a control group(n=50). The experimental group was given interventions of the family- positive behavior support,while the control group was given the routine psychological care. The scores of Family Adaptation and Cohesion Evaluation Scales Ⅱ(FACES Ⅱ),Parental Psychological Flexibility Questionnaire(PPFQ)and Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire(SDQ) before and after the intervention between 2 groups were compared. Results After intervention,the total scores of SDQ in the experimental group and the control group were lower than those before intervention(P<0.001),and the total scores of FACES Ⅱ were higher than those before intervention(P<0.001);the total score of PPFQ in the experimental group after intervention was higher than it before intervention(P<0.001). After intervention,the total score of SDQ in the experimental group was lower than those in the control group(P<0.001);the total scores of FACES Ⅱ and PPFQ in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Regardless of whether the children with malignant tumors have emotional and behavioral problems,the family-positive behavior support programme can reduce the incidence of emotional behavior problems,improve family intimacy and adaptability and parental psychological flexibility.

Objective To build a scientific and systematic evaluation index system of hospital-community continuous nursing quality after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) to provide a reference for nursing managers and clinical nurses to objectively evaluate the quality of hospital-community continuous nursing after PCI. Methods This study was conducted from November 2019 to April 2020 based on the three-dimensional quality structure model of“structure-process-result”,using literature review,semi-structured interviews,expert consultations and analytic hierarchy process to determine the content of the hospital-community linkage continuous nursing quality after PCI evaluation index system and the weight of each index. Results The effective recovery rates of the 2 rounds of expert consultations were 95% and 100% respectively;the expert authority coefficients were 0.933 and 0.937 res-pectively;the Kendall harmony coefficients were 0.201 and 0.226 respectively(P<0.001). The final evaluation index system includes 3 first-level indicators,14 second-level indicators and 62 third-level indicators,among which the structural quality includes 4 second-level indicators and 16 third-level indicators;the process quality includes 3 second-level indicators and 18 third-level indicators;the result quality includes 7 second-level indicators and 28 third-level indicators. Conclusion The hospital-community continuous nursing quality evaluation index system constructed after PCI is scientific and reliable,which can provide a basis for continuous nursing quality evaluation and continuous improvement.

Study on cleaning methods and evaluation approaches of silicone oil-attached ophthalmic surgical instruments

Objective To explore the optimum cleaning methods and effective evaluating approaches for silicone oil-attached ophthalmic surgical instruments. Methods 400 pieces of silicone oil-attached ophthalmic surgical instruments were randomly allocated into 4 groups,namely group A,group B,group C and group D. The standard cleaning method was used in group A;alkaline detergent immersion and standard cleaning method were used in group B;pretreatment detergent immersion and standard cleaning method were used in group C;Group D received 95% alcohol wet gauze wiping combined with pretreatment detergent immersion and standard cleaning method. The effects of 4 cleaning methods on silicone oil-attached ophthalmic surgical instruments were evaluated by 3 approaches including visual inspection,touching and water-hanging method. Results The comparison of cleaning methods shows that there were significant differences in qualified rates of silicone oil-attached ophthalmic surgical instruments among the 4 cleaning methods(P<0.001). The qualified rate of the cleaning method of 95% alcohol wet gauze wiping combined with pretreatment detergent immersion and standard cleaning method is the highest. The results of the 3 evaluation approaches for this cleaning method were as following,the qualified rate of visual comparison method with 98%,touching method with 100%,and water-hanging method with 97%. According to the comparison of evaluation approaches,the average implementation time of the water-hanging method is the shortest(10.1 s/piece). Conclusion The cleaning method of 95% alcohol wet gauze wiping combined with pretreatment detergent immersion and standard cleaning method is recommended. Moreover,the water-hanging method is suggested to be used as an approach for the detection of silicone oil residue after cleaning.

Objective This paper summarizes the experience of establishing nursing emergency personnel reserve bank based on information network technology in large general hospitals during the epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19). Methods It Includes adjustment of organizational structure system,establishment and management of nursing emergency personnel reserve bank. The personnel reserve bank was constructed based on the formation principles and procedures;the maintenance of emergency personnel’s basic information,the training of COVID-19 knowledge and related skills,and the multi-dimensional psychological support and humanistic care were implemented based on the hospital information platform. Results As of February 15,2020,a total of 553 nurses had been admitted to the reserve bank,of whom 260 were on standby and 293 were involved in the frontline epidemic prevention and control. Conclusion Nursing emergency personnel reserve bank based on information network technology in our hospital ensured efficient manpower dispatch and dynamic personnel management during the epidemic,which accumulated experience for the follow-up disaster aid.

Objective To develop a nurse training indicator system against workplace violence,in order to provide references for training courses against workplace violence for clinic nurses. Methods Based on behavioral objectives theory,literature reviews,semi-structured interviews,Delphi technique and Analytic Hierarchy Process were used to determine the nurse training indicator system and the weight of each index against workplace violence. Results The experts' positive coefficients were 95.24%,95.00% respectively in 2 rounds of Delphi technique. In terms of training aims,authority coefficient was 0.828,and the coefficient of concordance was 0.333( P< 0.001) in the second round. In terms of training contents,authority coefficient was 0.803,and the coefficient of concordance was 0.263( P< 0.01) in the second round. In the final indicator system,training aims consisted of 6 first-level indicators and 25 second-level indicators;training contents consisted of 3 first-level indicators,8 second-level indicators and 29 third-level indicators. Conclusion The nurse training indicator system against workplace violence based on behavioral objectives theory was scientific and reliable,which can provide valuable references for training courses against workplace violence for clinic nurses.

Objective To construct a nursing quality evaluation index system for ICU patient experience,and to provide references for objectively evaluating the quality of experience in ICU patients. Methods Under the guidance of evidence-based nursing practice methods,a pool of patient experience quality indicators was established by integrating results of literature inquiry and semi-structured interviews. The original questionnaire was determined by expert meeting,and the indicators were determined after 2 rounds of Delphi expert consultation. Experts’ opinions were summarized;9 indicators were deleted;6 indicators were revised; 5 indicators were added. The indicators were evaluated according to the criteria of the indicators,reliability of the experts and opinions of the research group. Results This study constructed 84 nursing quality indicators of ICU patient experience,including 5 first-level indicators,19 second-level indicators,and 60 third-level indicators;the average score of all indicators was >4 points,and the coefficient of variation was<0.25,indicating that the indicators had high reliability. Conclusion The nursing quality index system of ICU patient experience constructed in this study is highly scientific and effective,with guiding significance for evaluating the quality of experience in ICU patients.

Objective To develop a risk assessment scale for neonatal medical adhesive related skin injury and evaluate its effect of application in neonatal department.Methods The draft scale was formed by combining results of literature review and interview results of 12 clinical nurses in neonatal department,the neonatal skin risk assessment scale and neonatal skin condition assessment scale,as well as results of two rounds of expert consultation. Totally 102 neonates were assessed for risk of skin injury associated with adhesive and the reliability and validity of the scale were tested.Results The neonatal medical adhesive related skin injury risk assessment scale consisted of 2 dimensions and 7 items. The Cronbach’s α coefficient was 0.808 of the total scale,the test-retest reliability was 0.875,and the item content validity index ranged from 0.833 to 1.000. The content validity index of the overall consistency scale level(S-CVI/UA) was 0.875,and the content validity index of average scale level(S-CVI/Ave) was 0.980. Exploratory factor analysis identified 2 principal factors and explained 69.984% of the total variance.Conclusion The Neonatal Medical Adhesive Related Skin Injury Risk Assessment Scale has good validity and reliability. It can be used as a tool to measure the risk of skin injury associated with neonatal medical adhesive.

Investigation on the current situation of nursing human resources and training needs in neonatal departments in Guangxi

Objective To investigate the current situation and training demands of nursing human resources in neonatal departments in Guangxi,which can provide a reference for further adoption of targeted interventions. Methods Questionnaire on the Status Quo and Needs of Newborn Capacity Building in the Western Region developed by the Western Nursing Alliance was used to conduct a comprehensive investigation on the current situation and training needs of nursing human resources in newborn from secondary and above medical institutions. Results The allocation of nursing human resources:the ratio of beds to nurses was 1:0.73~0.83 in general hospitals,1:0.56~0.81 in maternal and child health hospitals,1:0.5~0.59 in hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine. The proportion of medium grade and senior professional titles of nurses was 13.76%~22.02% in tertiary medical institutions and 6.25%~22.22% in secondary medical institutions. The proportion of nurses with bachelor's degree or above in neonatal department was only 7.41% in secondary Grade B maternal and child health care hospitals,while it was 22.2%~65.4% in other medical institutions. There were 169 specialist nurses for newborns,accounting for 6.71%. In terms of training needs of nurses,there was no significant difference in needs between tertiary medical institutions and secondary medical institutions( P>0.05). The higher training needs were:critical illness care ability,first aid capability,new concept of nursing. Conclusion Human resources construction in Guangxi for neonatal care has achieved certain results. The educational background of nurses has been greatly improved but the allocation of nursing human resources in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals is lower. The overall professional title is lower. The level of nursing research needs to be improved and the training needs are high. It is suggested to strengthen the construction of nursing team in neonatal departments in Guangxi,meet the needs of nurse training,and pay attention to the training of specialist nurses to promote the development of neonatal nursing in Guangxi.
